Recently google India(gindia) organized the 2 day event called "gdays" in Delhi on 4th (Business day) and 5th (Technology day) of September in gurgoan (near Delhi). I attended the event on the 5th of September which is also called technology day. So here is my review about gindia which was held at Delhi on 5th September.
This is the first such initiated by google to showcase their new technologies and product demo to a wider audience in India. G days were already organized in Chennai, Bangalore, Hyderabad between July and august and the last station of gindia is in Mumbai on 11th and 12th of September 2012.
So lets start from the beginning, first of all I like to tell you about the official gindia website where you can register for Mumbai event and find all about gindia agenda, speaker and a lot more. I reached the Gurgoa epicenter (venue for finding event) around at 9.30 am (yes I was slightly late for event :P) and then I registered myself at the registration desk and got a batch which had 3-4 cards with track list and events, name and coupon for lunch and tea.
After that i went to track-1(there were 4 tracks to choose from according to your interest)where Sunil Rao, Country Head-Outreach Programs,india welcomed the visitors with talking about android and then jelly beans or should i say anarkali,akbar and salim show :P .On 11.30 am i left for track 3 where the google cloud session was ready to begin.This session was taken by Mani Doraisamy - Co-Founder & Chief Technology Officer, OrangeScape Technologies.He is the creator of KiSSFLOW and Visual PaaS and he talked about how you can use kissflow and Google app engine on cloud with lots of questions in QA round related to difficulties of cloud platform usage in india,how can start ups can use cloud services to enhance their productivity and efficiency.This session was very good and interesting and very useful for people who are thinking to launch up his own start up company.
Then it was lunch time and after taking the lunch I went to track number 4 where a session for career opportunities in google was going on and being a 4th year b. tech student as usual I was very curious to know about career opportunities in google. It was a very useful session for students,I learned about various career aspects, resume tips and interview environment from the speaker.
After that at about 2.45 pm i went back to track 3 where a session on youtube api's session was going on and it was taken by mr atul who is working in microsoft gurgao.Interestingly youtube api's session was included in delhi gdays only and was not the part of other gdays events across india .This session started on youtube api's from the begininng all the api's usage from like,comment to api's on particular categories were shown.As you know api's plays a prominient role in application development so these session on api's is very useful for developers.
Finally the last session on track one on html5 magic moments by neelesh,software developer in microsoft.According to me this was the best session on gday and neelesh really showed the real cool magic figures on html5.This was the session which i enjoyed a lot and it promted me to try and learn about html5.

And in late evening hours a counting game which helped us to refresh ourselves and then panel discussion based on difficulties and challenges faced by companies which included members from snapdeal,signal.net and others handled by sunil rao.By that time i was going into sleeping mode but i am able to concentrate on some good points especially made by mani.In last 15-20 minutes some knowledge based talks on google forums and google developer group delhi and then social media contest winners announcement.At 7.15 or so the event was finished and i was on my way to home with lots of learning experience and fun moments in gindia tshirt :P
All in all a good experience but it can be little better with timings as choosing from good choices was the tough task.
