1. Chris Gayle-He won the semis for west indies single handedly and played very well during the course of the entire tournament. He scored 221 runs with a strike rate of 150 and hit 16 sixes in the tournament (most by any batsman). His impact is such that whenever he scored 30+ west indies won that match in the world cup.

2.Mahela Jayawardene- He scored 243 runs in 7 matches at a strike 116 and For me he was the captain of the tournament too.He along with dilshan were the batting heroes for srilanka by which they reached to finals.

3.Marlon Samuels-According to he was the real star of this world cup and certainly he was the hero of world cup final.He bowled some good overs in the depth and powerplay and bowled in super over as well against newzealand by which they got through into the semis.With 230 runs and 132 strike rate he was certainly the most valueble player for westindies.

4.Virat Kohli -He scored 185 runs with strike rate 123 and 2 fifty plus scores for india.He was the only star for india in this world cup and sadly his effort gone in vane as india was unable to reach semis due to less run rate.

5.Tilakaratne Dilshan-And last in the top 5 batsman list is dilshan who scored 179 runs with a strike rate of 120 and one of the star for srilanka in their triump to the finals.

Top Allrounder..

Shane Watson-No surprize here,Yes with abilties with bat and bowl he is the best allrounder of this world cup and deserves the man of the tournament award.He was the top run getter of this world cup with 249 runs with 150 strike rate and second in the list of wicket takers with 11 wickets.He won 4 back to back man of the match awards and certainly the best player in this world cup.

Top Two Fast Bowlers...

1.Ravi Rampaul -He was the best fast Bowler for west indies throughout the tournament with 9 wickets in 7 matches .He took early wickets in each match including in the final as well.Against england his two wickets were the main reasons for westindies sucess.

2.Lasith Malinga-yes he was off target in the finals and his bowling was the main reason for the srilanka loss against westindies in the final but he bowled superly in other matches with 9 wickets in 7 matches with a economy of 8.4 including final where his economy was 13.5

Top Two Spin Bowlers...

1.Ajantha Mendis-He was the best bowler in this world cup by some distance.Making his comeback after an injury he proved that his mistry bowling still not resolved by many batsman.He took 15 wickets in 7 matches and in the finals he was superb against westindies where he took 4 wickets for 12 in 4 overs.He wasone  the most econimical bowler of this world cup with only 6.12 runs per over.

2.Sunil Narine:He waas the most econimical bowler of this world cup with 5.73 runs per over.He proved that his bowling in indian sub continent is really vital for west indies success.His spell against newzealand in super eight was the main reason for westindies to reach into semis and he took the vital wicket of jayawardene in the final as well.
